Ila Arun reacts to the recreation of 'Choli Ke Peeche' and says, 'I'm dumbfounded'

Renowned Indian folk and playback singer Ila Arun recently expressed her astonishment upon discovering that her iconic song ' Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai' has been recreated for the upcoming film 'Crew', starring Kareena Kapoor , Kriti Sanon, and Tabu. The singer conveyed feeling 'dumbfounded' by the remixed version. Originally featured in the 1993 film 'Khalnayak', the song attained cultural significance and is still celebrated for its catchy tune and controversial lyrics.

Talking to India Today.in, Ila Arun expressed her disbelief and stated that she would like to make it very clear that she has a very good relationship with Tips. Having said that, they called her five minutes before the launch of the song and asked for her blessing. What else could she do except give them her blessings? She was dumbfounded but couldn't ask them why they did this. So her reaction to the song is exactly what Alka Yagnik's reaction is. She feels 'Choli Ke Peeche' is such an iconic song. What a fantastic orchestration by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, and the world has danced to this colorful tune for years now. It's a beautiful song written by Anand Bakshi and performed by Madhuri Dixit and Neena Gupta . They say it's a new thing to reach out to the younger generation. But why should they? That's what she feels. People don't have to give them what they are looking for. Why can't they just create their own number? Young directors should create energetic, powerful songs that will be liked by the younger generation. Even DJs spoil all the songs by recreating them.

When asked what she thinks of the song featuring Kareena, she replied that people have liked Kareena dancing to the song, but how can she forget? People may call her old, but the original song is all heart. Here in this song, Kareena is having fun, but the original was a very well-choreographed song featuring Madhuri Dixit and Neena Gupta that was brilliant and will remain that forever.
