'Maa' box office collections day 9: Kajol starrer sees modest growth; Collects Rs 29.25 Cr in India

Kajol’s horror film 'Maa' continues its steady journey at the box office. After earning Rs 1 crore on its second Friday, the film saw a mild but welcoming boost on Day 9, collecting around ₹1.75 crore, based on early estimates by the Sacnilk website. Now the total collections stand at Rs 29.25 crore in India.

Directed with emotional depth and backed by strong performances delivered by Kajol, Ronit Roy, and Indraneil Sengupta, 'Maa' has connected with a niche audience. Though not a mass-market blockbuster, the film has carved out a quiet space with its sensitive storytelling and grounded themes.


Occupancy Grows Through the Day
Saturday’s overall Hindi occupancy stood at 22.07%, but the numbers rose gradually through the day. Morning shows were sparse at just 7.73%. By evening, occupancy had climbed to 26.37%, and night shows touched 32.19%. Pune was among the best-performing cities. It had an overall occupancy hitting 30.25%, and night shows reaching 42%.





Mumbai and NCR regions also contributed to the day’s total, though footfall remained modest.




Slow and Steady as It Nears ₹30 Cr Mark


With Sunday still to go, 'Maa' is expected to cross the Rs 30 crore mark by the end of its second weekend. For a mid-budget family drama without big-ticket action or spectacle, that’s a good number
