Mohanlal pays heartfelt tribute to director Sangeeth Sivan: 'It's a painful farewell to my dear brother'

Mollywood lost two incredible talents in the last two days, Harikumaran and Kanakalatha, and now the great filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan also breathed his last on May 8 in Mumbai. Superstar Mohanlal could not hold back his emotions as the director , with whom the actor did some of his career-best films in the past, left the world forever.
Apart from Mohanlal, Riteish Deshmukh, Sunny Deol, and Tusshar Kapoor also mourned his demise, sharing their experiences working with him in several films.

Mohanlal took to his Facebook account to share a picture of Sivan and wrote, "Beloved Sangeeth Sivan, who left his mark in direction and cinematography, was not just a friend but also a loving brother to me. Yoddha, Gandharvam, and Nirnayam are the films deeply ingrained in the minds of every Malayali because behind each of them was the touch of his genius. As time passes, cultural Kerala will remember Sangeeth as a great genius, and the characters he created will remain immortal. It's a painful farewell to my dear brother." He could not stop thinking about the evergreen hits they had together like ‘Yoddha’, ‘Gandharvam’, ‘Nirnayam’, and more while marking his condolences .


Apart from Mohanlal, Bollywood actors Riteish Deshmukh, Sunny Deol, Tusshar Kapoor among others also took to their social media accounts to mourn Sangeeth Sivan’s demise.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also condoled his demise. He said that Sangeeth Sivan was a remarkable director who took the art of cinema to various levels. His death is a great loss for Indian cinema . Opposition leader in Kerala, VD Satheesan, also expressed his condolences over the death of Sangeeth Sivan.



Filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan breathed his last on Wednesday. The news of his demise was confirmed by Sangeeth Sivan's brother Sanjeev Sivan. The director was undergoing treatment for urinary infection at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai and unfortunately, on Wednesday, he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Sangeeth Sivan, the eldest son of photographer-cinematographer Sivan, is survived by his wife, Jayashree, and children, Sanjana and Shanthanu.
