Prithviraj Sukumaran reveals he said NO to Chiranjeevi twice , ' I was waiting for the past ten years for 'Aadujeevitham'
Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently busy promoting his upcoming film ‘ Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life)’ directed by Blessy . This movie, based on a true incident, will hit theaters on March 28. In a recent interview, Prithviraj revealed that he had to drop Megastar Chiranjeevi ’s ‘ Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy ’ due to his commitment towards the Blessy film in 2019.
He had to say no to Chiranjeevi twice, but the megastar still maintains a good bond with the actor.
In a recent promotional event, he told the Telugu media that he was worried about Chiranjeevi understanding his excuses and some random lies. In 2018, Chiranjeevi contacted Prithvi through Mani Ratnam’s wife, actress Suhasini Maniratnam, to play a role in ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’. He was flattered that the megastar was calling him for a big role, which he saw as a great endorsement. But Prithvi explained to Chiranjeevi that he had been waiting for the past ten years for ‘Aadujeevitham’ and had grown his beard and lost weight for the role. This time the megastar understood the situation.

However, four years later, Prithvi became a director and his debut film ‘ Lucifer ’ became a hit in Kerala. Chiranjeevi bought the rights to that film and ‘Sye Raa’ was getting ready for release. For ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ promotional event in Kerala, the megastar invited Prithvi as the chief guest. Chiranjeevi wanted him to make ‘Lucifer’ in Telugu, but again Prithvi replied, saying that he had to grow his beard and lose weight for a big film, so he was unable to do a Telugu version of ‘Lucifer’ then. Chiranjeevi replied in a funny tone, ‘Hey! A few years ago, you told the same story.’
But Prithvi calls Chiranjeevi a sweet person, and he messages Prithvi once in a while, keeping in touch. Chiranjeevi’s son, actor Ram Charan, texted Prithvi when Lucifer's Telugu remake ‘GodFather’ was released. The actor hopes he will be able to work with them someday.
