Randeep Hooda on turning writer and director: 'Now I want to make an action film like Extraction'

Randeep Hooda , who made his directorial debut with Swatantra Veer Savarkar , recently expressed his thoughts on the lack of acknowledgment from his Bollywood counterparts despite his significant contributions, especially in the Hollywood film Extraction alongside Chris Hemsworth .

Speaking about his role in Extraction, Randeep lamented the absence of discussion and praise from the Indian film fraternity.
"I had played a significant role in the film but nobody in Bollywood spoke about the film. Hindustan mein toh kuch nahin hua. Yahan kisi ne baat tak nahin ki siwaay kuch media walon ne," he told Bollywood Bubble.

Randeep further said that his role in Extraction was not only as a personal milestone but also as a representation of Indian actors breaking away from stereotypical roles in Hollywood . "We Indians are not considered physically strong but Extraction allowed me to show that Indians are physically strong," he stated.

The actor expressed his gratitude for the opportunities that Extraction provided, opening doors to Hollywood projects subsequently offered to him in the last two years. However, due to his commitment to Swatantra Veer Savarkar, he had to decline these offers.

"Now that I have become a writer and director, I want to make an action film like Extraction,” he concluded.
