Shinde Fadnavis govt in a major bureaucratic reshuffle transfers 44 IAS officers, Iqbal Chahal continues to be BMC Commissioner

The Shinde-Fadnavis government, which completes three months in office on Friday, brought in a major bureaucratic reshuffle and transferred 44 IAS officers on Thursday night.

Public health additional chief secretary (ACS) Pradeep Vyas has been appointed as ACS tribal development, while MahaGenco CMD Sanjay Khandare will be the new health secretary.

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) CEO P Anbalagan, who has completed four years in his post, has been transferred as the MahaGenco CMD. Thane municipal commissioner Vipin Sharma has been posted as MIDC CEO.

Contrary to expectations, BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal will continue in his post as he is currently an administrator till the new general body is elected.

The state government has transferred environment department principal secretary Manisha Mhaiskar as the principal secretary and chief protocol officer in the general administration. She will also hold the additional charge as principal secretary of the Marathi language department. Development commissioner (unorganised labour) Ashwini Joshi has been appointed as the medical education secretary and Leena Bansod is the new additional commissioner tribal development in Thane.

Housing department principal secretary Milind Mhaiskar will be the new principal secretary of excise and civil aviation. Valsa Nair has been posted as housing department principal secretary, while Saurabh Vijay is new principal secretary of tourism and cultural affairs.

Harshadeep Kamble is now the principal secretary of the industry department and Deependra Kushwaha is the development commissioner. The government has posted Jayashree Bhoj as the director general of information and public relations and she will hold additional charge as Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation’s MD. AR Kale has been reinstated as the Food and Drug Administration commissioner.

Praveen Darade has been appointed the principal secretary of the environment department and will hold the additional charge as member secretary of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). The incumbent MPCB member secretary, AA Shingae, has been posted as the Thane district collector, replacing Rajesh Narvekar, who has been posted as the Navi Mumbai municipal commissioner.

The government has transferred the Navi Mumbai municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar as the Thane municipal commissioner. Tourism director Yashwant Borikar will be the new Mumbai MHADA CEO, replacing the incumbent Yogesh Mhase. Meanwhile, Anup Kumar Yadav has been appointed the secretary of minority development department.
