PM Modi is a liar

The Congress party has strongly condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for falsely accusing it of snatching the quota for SCs and STs and handing it over to the minorities.

Congress senior leader and Advisor to Telangana Government (SC, ST, BC& Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that PM Modi was either totally ignorant or openly lying about the 4% reservation given to socially and economically backward Muslim groups in the undivided Andhra Pradesh in 2004 by the then Congress Government headed by Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajashekhara Reddy.

Calling PM Modi a pathological liar, Shabbir Ali said that the Prime Minister should be ashamed of himself for stooping down to a level where he is resorting to falsehood to mislead the people. “When Congress came to power in 2004, we implemented 5% reservations for Muslims to fulfill the promise we made in the manifesto. A new category, ‘E’, was created among OBCs. The then reservation was 46% (SCs – 15%; ST – 6% and BCs – 25%).

This was kept untouched, and a 5% reservation was given separately.Since this crossed the SC’s ceiling on the reservation of 50%, the High Court struck down the quota, and we brought new legislation reducing the quota to 4%,” he said.
