Celebrating Latadidis is true pride of Maharashtra

Latadidi’s immortal voice will remain till eternity

A grandeur musical tribute ‘Latanjali’ was organised in Mumbai to commemorate the first death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, who had held an indelible place in the hearts of every Indian with mesmerizing magic of her voice.

Mumbai BJP president MLA Adv. Ashish Shelar, an avid music lover, has organised a musical evening ‘Latanjali’ to commemorate Latadidi’s first anniversary on February 6 in collaboration with Merak Event at Shanmukhananda Auditorium, Matunga.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Lata Mangeshkar’s nephew Adinath Mangeshkar were present during this event. On this occasion, chief minister Eknath Shinde assured that no stone will be left unturned for erecting the Bharat Ratna Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar International Music College.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that although Latadidi is physically not present with us, her voice was and will always remain eternal. Our lives are truly incomplete without her eternal voice. There mustn’t be any person whose life was not touched by Latadidi. Her mesmerizing voice has no bounds, no distinction of border, region, language and country. The Mangeshkar family has truly rendered great service to the music industry. It would not be wrong to say that not only Maharashtra but they have truly enriched the country’s art culture. Her mere rememberance gives goosebumps. Latadidi’s immortal voice will continue to leave a mark for generations to come. It will not be wrong to say that the Maharashtra is blessed to have given birth to a gem like Latadidi.

I was fortunate to start the Bharat Ratna Lata Dinanath Mangeshkar International Music College. Although Ashish Shelar said that the work for this college took place with my signature, I was simply instrumental in getting it done. All of us wanted to have an international college in the name of Latadidi.  Now we are glad it is taking shape in Kalina. We will leave no stone unturned for this college. This government will honor Latadidi.  Along with this, the Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Auditoroum has also been constructed at Mirara-Bhayander. The Chief Minister also announced that this theater with a seating capacity of one thousand will be inaugurated soon. Prime Minister Modiji is also erecting a grand memorial of Lata Mangeshkar in Ayodhya and I applaud him for this initiative.

Over 50 performers including renowned singers like Sadhana Sargam, Bela Shende, Sharayu Date, Sampada Goswami, Nirupama De and other singers and acclaimed instrumentalists performed with narrations by Sandeep Panchwatkar and RJ Gaurav.

Interestingly, the female actors to whom Latadidi had lent her mellifluous voice were also present for the musical concert including actors like Hema Malini, Asha Parekh, Mousumi Chatterjee, Padmini Kolhapure, Nitu Singh, Bindu, Reena Roy, Poonam Dhillon, Raveena Tandon, Rani Mukherjee and Kajol.

Music directors like Anandji, Pyarelal and others were also present.
