Procedure to Become an Air Hostess

Air hostess is one profession desired by women. After the liberalisation in aviation sector, job opportunities for air hostess professionals have increased multi-fold. It is one of the highest paid professions for women in India. Here are some tips for become an Air Hostess.

Qualifying Exam
As part of the screening process the candidate will have to sit for a written examination followed by a group discussion followed by a personal interview.

If the candidate does well in all the above said things, she will be on training for 3 months. In those training sessions she will learn about the safety and first aid, how to serve and mingle with the passengers etc.

There are both short term and long term courses. The duration of short could be between 3 to 6 months. The long term course is for a minimum of one year.

Eligibility

Although most of the airlines need a person who is 12th pass, some of the airlines prefer graduates. Some of the reputed airlines even demand a graduation with specialization in Hotel Management and Tourism. Fluency in English, Hindi and any of the International languages will be an added advantage. For most of the airlines, the minimum age is 21years and the maximum is 25yrs.

The girl who pursue to become an Air Hostess must be unmarried (some of the airlines employs married women though). She should be at least 157.5cms with normal eyesight of 6/6 uncorrected in both eyes. She should not be overweight.

The next most important criteria to become an Air Hostess are that, she should have a pleasing personality, must be capable of remaining calm even under the worst circumstances. She should not lose her control even though the passengers irritate her by asking the same questions, repeatedly asking for food, water etc. She should have common sense and a sense of responsibility.
