Mathematics is not such a big deal as most people make. After all, it is a skill just like any other that can be improved with practice. Many people think that because they can`t understand what their maths teacher is telling them, it means they can`t understand maths. If you`re tired of not getting best grades in math, simply change your approach. Here are 7 tips to help you understand Mathematics better.
Act like someone who loves math to get better at it. Motivate yourself to spend more time doing math. You can view math from many different angles and look up different mathematical resources, until you gave found the angle that makes most sense to you.

Listen closely and take lots of notes. When you take lots of notes, you have something to study with.

Never work math problems in pen. Scratch outs on the notes increase the anxiety about solving the problem. You want clean neat paper with a clean well thought out solution.

Do not lose confidence in class if others answer faster than you because it is not a race. Do not feel judged for not getting it instantly.

Always work problems vertically, with one step on every line. This way you will be able to follow your steps much more easily.
If the problem lends itself to it, draw a picture of the problem. This is most applicable for Trigonometry, Calculus, and Physics. It will help you figure out how to proceed.
