Born With Just 2% Healthy Brain Tissue, 6-YO Has Now 'Grown It Back' & Is Learning To Walk

A boy who was born with just two per cent of healthy brain tissue and zero chance of survival is now six-years-old. But this wasn't a day his parents had thought would come.In a miraculous turn of events, Noah Wall’s brain has 'grown back' most of it, almost 80 per cent, and is learning to experience the lighter things in life.

The doctors warned his parents, Shelley and Rob Wall, to terminate the pregnancy and not just once but five times. But, they were determined not to abort the child, even when the doctors told them the worst case scenario.

They faced many issues during the pregnancy, not only had Noah developed no brain in the womb but also had Spina bifida. This had drastically reduced his chances of survival.

"If younger people were offered that choice, they may have felt pressured into taking it," explained Rob, who also has two daughters with Shelley.

"But because we're older parents, we know our own mind and we're positive people. So we wanted to give Noah the chance of life."

The choice they made has really paid off: not only is Noah doing all the things that a normal human does, he can also talk, hear, see and smile, which doctors had said he won't be able to. "Even if his brain had been so squashed up, he'd be severely mentally disabled because of all that damage and look at him - he's as bright as a button," said Rob.

He will also be going through a treatment called ‘neurophysics’ which is a mixture of physiotherapy and cognitive exercises. Although Noah is too young for this treatment, he’s been prepared for it because he will go through it when he's older.

Hats off to little Noah who is handling all these things at such a tender age and his family who has such positive hopes for their baby.
