Brajesh Thakur, the main accused in Muzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal has been shifted to Bhagalpur jail late on Wednesday night from Khudiram Bose Central prison on request of CBI.
Muzaffarpur jail superintendent Neeraj Jha told News18 that the police received orders to shift Thakur around 11:30 pm on Wednesday and after the security arrangements were made, he was sent to Bhagalpur jail.
Earlier, the CBI suspecting Thakur of using his influence inside the jail had recommended state authorities to lodge him outside Muzaffarpur.
The CBI is carrying out SC monitored investigation in sexual, physical and psychological harassment of the minor girl living in Muzaffarpur Balika Grah run by Thakur owned NGO Sewa Sanklap Evam Vikas Samiti.
While Thakur has been shifted to Bhagalpur jail, the other eight accused are likely to be shifted to a Beur jail in Patna.
Thakur was arrested on June 2 after an audit report executed by the Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) exposed the scandal. The medical tests proved that minor girls were subjected to rape for a long period of time.
