When the term ‘boss’ comes up in any conversation, the word ‘bad’ is the immediate following thought. As if the word boss is a synonym of bad. Is it, really?

I believe generalisation of anything is bad. While most of you might agree on the bad boss thing, I’d say it is not entirely true. It is your experience that counts. A good boss is as real as a stressed millennial.

The preconceived notion about bosses all around is someone who keeps telling you what to do, And this becomes the topmost reason for disliking them. You don’t want to be told anything, right?

It’s been three years since I entered into the professional area and yes, I’ve found an extremely brilliant person who is not only a good manager but also a good boss. The one who is far from cracking the whip.

A good boss is not only a good boss but a great leader too. A leader people look up to. Who is an inspiration and builds a foundation. That is exactly everything my boss is made of.

Just like that, he too supports people’s ideas and gives the best advice when asked for. Always up for discussing new creative ideas which ultimately makes you and your potential grow.

I believe a good boss should be one who lets you approach him with ease about anything and everything and creates an atmosphere of expansive thinking.

Another thing I like about my boss is how he handles an entire team with the utmost efficiency. The one who does have the ability to put everyone in their right seats after figuring out each one’s strengths and weaknesses.

He never forgets to appreciate people for their exceptional work. And makes sure there are happy faces floating on the floor. Because yes, happy faces are more productive ones.

Not only taking the team forward, but a good boss also makes sure you an individual is growing too.

Not trying to pull the employees down but take pride in seeing them rise. A quality that every boss should imbibe.

Also, not to forget his impeccable sense of humour that is an added bonus. Quality of making people laugh in a boss gives a positive impression.

So boss, thank you for making me learn so much and not making me hate the corporate world that people believe is the worse. Thank you for keeping my soul excited enough to come to work every single day.

All in all, the list might go long but what I know is that I'll always be thankful to him for making me the person that I am today.

Thank you for changing the idea of bad boss in my head and giving me a new one.
