WhatsApp for Android 2.19.9 update brings group call shortcuts and more
WhatsApp, the popular online messaging app that had rolled out the group voice and video calling feature way back in August, has now rolled out a new update for its Android users that brings the dedicated call button in group chat. This very same feature had arrived on iPhone a month back.
The new update brings the dedicated calling button wherein users will be able to make group calls by adding people directly from the contact.

The new WhatsApp v2.19.9update was first spotted by WABetaInfo. Initially, when the group calling feature was introduced on WhatsApp, one was required to start a voice or video call with the contact and when the call got connected, users were required to tap on the plus sign that is placed on the top right corner to add more participants, which basically took too much time and effort.
With the new update, WhatsApp has made the entire process easy to make a group voice and video call. Users will now be required to tap on the icon placed on the top right corner in group chats, where a slide-out will appear which comes with the list of contacts from where one will be able to select participants.
In case you haven't received the update, simply visit the Google Play Store and check for the updates. Note that, WhatsApp has also been working on the fingerprint authentication on the Android smartphones, which could roll out in future updates.
