Samsung 'Make For India' Galaxy Apps Store launched for Indian consumers

In order to strengthen the connection with its strong user base, Samsung India has announced its partnership with Indus App Bazaar that will help in empowering its users to discover and access their favourite mobile app in twelve different Indian languages. Samsung has made this announcement at a time when the industry sees an increase in app downloads from smaller towns across India.

Sanjay Razdan, Senior Director, Services Management, Samsung India said that there is an increase in the penetration of smartphones and mobile application downloads amongst the Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets in the country. The company went on to study the trend in key markets and has partnered with Indus App Bazaar in order to address the growing demand for vernacular applications. This partnership will allow customers to access their favourite apps on Galaxy Apps Store in twelve Indian languages other than English. With this initiative, users across the country will find the ‘Galaxy App Store’ more user-friendly and useful.

The new ‘Make for India’ offering from Samsung will aid millions of Indians to navigate through an exhaustive catalogue of apps in the Galaxy Apps Store in their native language. The Galaxy Apps Store will be available in languages like English, Telugu, Malayalam, Odia, Tamil, Punjabi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Marathi and Bengali.

The Galaxy Apps Store will now allow users to download a host of free apps without having to sign in that will make the experience hassle-free and easy.

Razdan added, "We understand that there is a growing demand among mobile users to communicate in their local language. The new Galaxy Apps Store is a big step in that direction. We also realized that the mandatory sign in on the Apps store is an extra step and have completely removed this requirement for free downloadable apps. Coupled with the revamped user experience and the enormous catalogue of apps available on Galaxy Apps Store, we are sure that our Galaxy users will cherish the new experience and will fall in love with it”.

The Galaxy Apps Store will offer users a strong personalised recommendation engine that will allow users to download the apps. The Galaxy Apps will come with a special section that will highlight all Indian innovations to all Samsung phone users that will be in line with the Government of India’s ‘Startup India’ initiative.
