Raveena Tandon Reacts To Suicide Rumors That Broke Shortly After Breakup With Akshay Kumar: “They (Media) Wanted To Sell Magazines”
Raveena Tandon went through turmoil after her breakup with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. The duo became one of the hottest couples in B’Town, and the news of their broken engagement shattered millions of hearts. There were wild rumors that she tried to commit suicide after the heartbreak, and two decades later, below is what she has to say about it!
Akshay and Raveena began dating around 1995 and got engaged in the late 90s. Their sizzling real-life chemistry could be seen in their hit collaborations like Mohra, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, among others. They unfortunately parted ways for unknown reasons, and Kumar moved on with Twinkle Khanna in 2001.

One such claim was about the actress attempting suicide. In a conversation with Barkha Dutt for Mojo Story, Raveena reacted to the decade-old rumors and said, “Yes, what’s the big deal? So many relationships break up, people move on, you remain friends… You realise we were not good as partners but we’re good as friends. So what’s the big deal? I don’t understand. I was absolutely fine. The bigger fuss was made in the media, because in those days, they wanted to sell their magazines. But personally, amongst us, between my friends, and what my family thought mattered to me. Beyond a certain point, what people thought did not matter to me.”

Raveena Tandon welcomed two daughters, Pooja and Chhaya, via adoption in 1995. Unfortunately, there was a lot of backlash regarding this, but the actress stopped reading the tabloid rumors that could affect her. She did mention how her parents helped her bring up her two daughters.
In 2004, Raveena tied the knot with film distributor Anil Thadani. They’re also blessed with two children – Rasha (2005) and Ranbirvardhan (2008).
