Crispy okra coated with delicious spices. It makes a great side dish with dal-rice or can be simply enjoyed with roti.
2 cups okra (bhindi), cut into 4 pieces lengthwise
2 tablespoons besan (gram flour)
2 tablespoons rice flour
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
Oil for deep-frying
Salt to taste
* Combine all the ingredients (except oil and chaat masala) in a large bowl and mix well.
* Heat the oil in a pan for deep-frying. Take a handful of bhindi and scatter them in the hot oil. Do not put too many at a time. Fry them till they turn crisp and golden brown.
* Take them out in a dish lined with absorbent paper. Sprinkle some chaat masala on it.
* Serve immediately with dal-rice or roti.
