'My neighbour is demanding to use my parking spots - she tried to get my car towed'

A man, whose neighbour has assumed 'ownership' of his parking spot for her Christmas guests, is seeing red and has resorted to drastic action to solve the spat.

He was so incensed by her actions that he has been letting off steam on Reddit

, hoping he might hear some reassuring words and support.

A letter shoved through is letter box marked the latest episode in his sorry parking woes. She informs him, without seeking his permission, that her guests will be using his parking spots over the festive period.

The anonymous man explained: "The note says she has already arranged for her guests to use my driveway, from 20th December to 2nd January.

"She basically told me park on the street, so her guests can use both of my spots. I just been over to her house and reminded her it is my driveway. She has not got any authority to let others use my driveway."

He tells her in no uncertain terms that he will arrange for unauthorised cars on his driveway to be towed away. "She said she will call the police. I just said go ahead."

This is the latest in a running battle he has with his neighbour over his driveway. Despite attempts to change the situation, she still insists she has a right to park there.

"I had problems with this [woman] over my driveway, since I moved in my house in February 2021. First time I met her is when she tried to tow my car out of my driveway on the first day of me starting to move into my new house.

Her excuse at the time was that she did not recognise the car in 'her' spot and called the police straight away. "She didn't know that I had moved in. She had a deal with previous owner of my house, who didn't drive, so let [her] use the single car driveway."

"She was still parking in my driveway and it stopped after I got it towed. After I had extended my driveway to fit two cars side-by-side, still in front of my house and not going over any property lines, [she] demanded the second spot of my driveway.

"After I said no, she had the nerve to still go ahead and use that second spot. She stopped again after I towed it again. Also she attempted to tow my girlfriend's car from my driveway."

Many people flocked to the Reddit post to share their thoughts on the parking dispute, with one suggesting: "Put up a sign "Parking: $500 per hour".

Another added: "Where do these people come from ? she is putting her guests in an awkward position too because they probably don’t know that they can’t park there."
