How To Stop Feeling Guilty For Not Being Productive During Quarantine
Man, if there was a jar for every time someone made Dalgona Coffee or made up a Tag Challenge, even 5 jars wouldn’t be enough. The internet can get to you sometimes and have you to believe everyone is being more productive than you during the quarantine.
Whether quarantined or not, this is one life lesson I’ve learnt from my mother—don’t compare yourself. Not only is it guaranteed to give you heartache but it’s also something that will restrict your own growth and achievement.
While it takes time and mental practice to stop comparing and trying to equalise your worth to someone else’s. Once you distance yourself from what others are doing or “achieving” around you, you’ll soon realise your worth, and how it can’t be earned through a challenge and realise that you had it within all along.
3. Learn About Your Own ProcessJust like everyone’s coffees and challenges look different, so is their processing power too. Give yourself time to figure your process out and then try and adjust to it. Because we’ve got plenty of time during this quarantine, so don’t rush and just enjoy the ride.
Someone else’s “productive” may not be yours. Keeping that in mind, your kind of “productive” can even be catching up on the Netflix shows you haven’t had the time for before. It’s honestly all okay! You need to start re-evaluating what being productive means to you and how good you feel about yourself at the end of the day.
