Fake agent of Amazon cheats old man of Rs 85,900
Nagpur: A fake agent of Amazon conned an aged man by pilfering Rs 85,900 from his bank account on the pretext of delivering the ordered item. Ambazari cops have launched a search of the accused.
A resident of Plot No. 120A, Ramnagar, Dinesh Vasant Ratnaparkhi (61) received a phone call from an unidentified person around 7.30 am on July 11, 2019.
The caller posed as Amazon agent and sought details of Dinesh’s bank account. Later, the conman through VPI transferred Rs 85,900 from Dinesh’s bank account and cheated him.
Ambazari ASI Kohale has registered a case against the unidentified conman under Sections 419, 420 of the IPC read with Sections 66(C), 66(D) of Information Technology Act and searching for him.
