Tricksters dupe Kotak Mahindra Bank of Rs 9.61 lakhs using forged docs

Nagpur: Bajaj Nagar Police have booked two people including a woman for allegedly duping Kotak Mahindra Bank, Shankar Nagar branch by getting vehicle loan sanctioned to the tune of Rs 9,61,978 on fake documents. The accused duo reportedly posed as an engineer at Khaparkheda Power Plant to secure loan.

Following the complaint registered by, Dipak Dattatraya Wakde (42), a resident of Flat No. 3, Bholebaba Nagar, Bajaj Nagar police have booked accused identified as Swati Nagesh Pawar (28), a resident of Flat No. 158, Welcome Society, Katol Road and Swapanil Ramteke, a resident of Saoner for mortgaging non existing documents and duping bank of Rs 9.61 lakh between February 14 and 21, 2019.

Complainant reveled to police that accused approached Kotak Mahindra Bank, Shankar Nagar branch seeking property loan worth Rs 10 lakh. However accused intentionally mortgaged documents and salary slips of Khaparkheda Thermal Power plant knowing they are non-existent and also created bogus RL letter and defrauded the bank. Subsequently, it is learnt that by impersonation and creation of forged title deed they secured loans and filed to repay the amounts. However the accused also reportedly diverted funds.

Bajaj Nagar police has registered a case under section 420,406,465,467,471,34 of IPC. Further probe is underway.
