Akshay Kumar to charge Rs 120 cr for his next film, becomes highest paid actor in Bollywood: Report

Akshay Kumar has now turned the highest-paid actor in the tinsel town if reports of him signing his next project for a fee of Rs 120 crore is true. According to the reports, Akshay's film will be helmed by Tanu Weds Manu fame filmmaker Aanand L Rai. It is also said that the film will feature Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush in pivotal roles.

A report in Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying, “Akshay Kumar is known to charge upfront fees and in today’s time, his name attracts the audience not just in the cinema hall but also gets lucrative offers from digital and satellite networks. Akshay and his team believe that the actor deserves 100 crores plus as acting fees for the goodwill that he brings to the project.”

Akshay recently set a new record by delivering five consecutive films that crossed Rs 150 crore mark at the box-office. His last release was Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani starrer Good Newwz.

Sharing the benchmarks set by Taran Adarsh, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently tweeted, “Good Newwz benchmarks...Crossed ₹ 50 cr: Day 3. Rs 100 cr: Day 6. Rs 125 cr: Day 7. Rs 150 cr: Day 10. Rs 175 cr: Day 13. Rs 200 cr: Day 24. India biz. SUPERHIT.”  

Talking about his professional front, Akshay has got interesting projects namely Rohit Shetty's directorial Sooryavanshi, another film titled Prithviraj and Laxmmi Bomb.
