Live: Supreme Court to deliver verdict in Ayodhya land dispute case shortly

New Delhi, Nov 9: 

The Supreme Court of India will pronounce its historic verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case today. The five-judge bench of the Supreme Court led by CJI Ranjan Gogoi is likely to pronounce judgment at 10:30 am today. Massive security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that there is no backlash after the verdict.

Here are all the live updates:

- Accounts of travellers and historians mention faith of Hindus that the place is birthplace of Lord Ram. The account of travellers has to be read with circumspection, SC says.

-Hindus have faith and belief that Lord Ram was born under the dome. Faith is a matter of individual belief, says CJI.

-Title of the land can be decided only on legal evidence, SC says.

- Archaeological Survey of India credentials are beyond doubt and the findings cannot be neglected, says CJI 

-Nirmohi Akhara suit is not maintainable and it has no shebait rights (priestly rights), rules SC.

-This court must accept faith and accept belief of worshippers. Court should preserve balance: CJI Ranjan Gogoi

-Babri mosque was built by Mir Baqi. It is inappropriate for the Court to get into area of theology.

-At least 40,000 police personnel have been deployed in Mumbai in view of the Supreme Court's verdict on the sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute case, officials said. The situation will be monitored through drone units and live CCTV feeds from the police control room.
