Honda WR-V gets an all-new 'V' model in India

Honda Cars India has introduced a new 'V' variant of its crossover, the Honda WR-V, at Rs. 9.95 lakh.

The new model joins the already available 'S' and 'VX' trims.

It has received most of the features from the top-end 'VX' variant such as the infotainment system, cruise control, and a reverse camera. However, it misses on electric sunroof and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Talking about exteriors, the new 'V' model looks similar to Honda WR-V's other models. It has a similar chrome-finished grille along with roof rails and bumpers.

The new model has received some design upgrades in the form of front fog lamps and position lamps along with turn indicators on ORVM, and R16 multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Inside, the five-seater Honda WR-V sports a dual-tone cabin with Black & Silver upholstery and a multifunctional steering wheel with control for utility functions.

Talking about electronic features, the crossover gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with automatic climate control, navigation, and one push start-stop button with white and red illumination.

The 'V' model is powered by a 1.5-liter DOHC diesel engine which is capable of producing 99bhp of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. Moreover, it is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and promises an ARAI certified mileage of 25.5kmpl.

The new variant comes equipped with ABS and EBD for better road handling.

For parking assistance, it offers a rear-view camera along with the rear parking sensors.

Moreover, the crossover gets dual front airbags and a bunch of additional safety features such as seat belt reminder, speed alert warning, and pedestrian injury mitigation technology.


Finally, what about pricing?

As far as the pricing is concerned, the new 'V' trim of the Honda WR-V is available at a price of Rs. 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

At this price point, the new variant is Rs. 70,000 costlier than the base-end 'S' model and Rs. 40,000 cheaper than the top-end 'VX' trim.
