Reliance Jio looks primed to disrupt the broadband market in India with its fiber-to-the-home service, Jio GigaFiber, which is set to roll out from September 5.

Hence, other telecom players in the country are revising their plans to maintain their share and prepare themselves to take on Reliance's upcoming broadband service.

Here's how Jio GigaFiber compares with competitors under Rs. 1,000.

First off, what do you get with Jio GigaFiber?
New service

Jio GigaFiber's base plan will start from Rs. 700/month and will offer 100Mbps of speed. The top-end plan with 1Gbps speed and Jio HomeTV subscription will cost Rs. 10,000/month.

Further, customers opting for 'Jio Forever' plan will get an HD/4K LED TV and a 4K set-top box for free.

But the finer details will be known next week when the service rolls out commercially.

Notably, Airtel's V-Fiber is the biggest competitor of Jio GigaFiber in the Indian market.

Under the Rs. 1,000 price point, the FTTH service has a basic Rs. 799 plan which offers 100GB of internet data (plus 200GB bonus data) at upto 40Mbps and free calling benefits.

The telco also offers a Rs. 1,099 Entertainment plan which offers 300GB of high-speed data at upto 100Mbps.

Meanwhile, Vodafone-owned You Broadband offers multiple plans but they vary from circle to circle. In Bengaluru, the company offers a 30Mbps plan with 200GB data for Rs. 826 while in Gurugram, there's a Rs. 1,003 plan which offers 150GB data at 150Mbps speed.

Separately, state-owned BSNL offers a few plans under Rs. 1,000. However, the most notable option is the Rs. 999 pack which offers upto 10Mbps of speed till 15GB daily data limit and upto 2Mbps after the consumption of the data limit.

The telecom giant has also bundled Amazon Prime annual membership with broadband plans priced over Rs. 399.
