Setting an example for everyone, beauty queen Bhasha Mukherjee has returned to her previous job as a doctor to fight the coronavirus pandemic in the UK, one of the worst-hit nations around the world.

The Indian-origin winner of 2019 Miss England pageant returned from charity work in India to join her former colleagues and continue her medical services.

Here's more on this.

What happened

Mukherjee (24) arrived in India at the beginning of March to work as an ambassador for a community charity.

But as things worsened in the UK, she started receiving messages from her former colleagues at the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, Lincolnshire, England, who told her how grim the situation was.

Mukherjee then contacted the hospital management and expressed her desire to join again.

Mukherjee added, "I felt a sense of this is what I'd got this (medical) degree for."

In fact, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is also suffering from the deadly virus. He is currently in intensive care at London's St Thomas' Hospital.
