Parineeti Chopra is back in the limelight due to her performance as Amarjot Kaur in Imtiaz Ali's Amar Singh Chamkila, which recently dropped on Netflix.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, she opened up about her struggles with public relations (PR), attributing it to missed professional opportunities.

She admitted to being "very bad at PR," and expressed her belief that she has "much more potential than the position" she currently holds in the industry.

'I can do much more'
Bad PR

Speaking about her sporadic releases, she said, "I feel that I have much more potential than the position that I hold in the industry currently. I feel that I can do much more, give much more but my problem is that my PR game sucks, I'm very bad at PR."

"I'm very bad at having those relationships with the right people and I'm very bad at making those calls, going to lunches and dinners and parties, and creating those situations."

Chopra believes in her talent, not in parties
Her belief

Chopra further spoke about how not attending parties has dented her professional life.

"Sometimes work opportunities are created at these gatherings. I'm not saying that if you don't go party, you won't get work. I hope people don't see it as black and white. I feel that I am that person who believes I'll do good in films and keep getting good works but that is not the case."

"There's a lot more that happens."

Industry insights

Chopra further addressed the issue of favoritism in Bollywood, suggesting that access to certain directors can lead to work opportunities, while others may be overlooked.

"I am just saying that there are camps, there are circles, there are favorites," she explained.

"I don't have somebody making calls for me. I don't have somebody saying take Parineeti in this film, I will do a deal with you. I only have my talent."

Career prospects

Reflecting on her past film choices, Chopra acknowledged that some were less than ideal.

She urged, "Honestly, I hope that people don't judge me by a few choices that I made. They were bad choices. I am learning and hope that they give me opportunities again,"

To recall, despite some memorable movies like Ishaqzaade and Hasee Toh Phasee, she has had some duds like Jabariya Jodi and Namaste England.

Advocacy

Speaking about other actors like her, she added, "I admit that I'm bad at that but I hope that my opportunities don't suffer because of that."

"I say that maybe I don't get the due that I believe that I deserve but I truly want to be the spokesperson for this entire group of talented actors who are sitting at home and want to say 'Listen please do reach out to us, give us opportunities that we want."
