After interrogation didn't help in the probe, police considered different angles. They searched for the boy in neighboring districts of Uttar Pradesh but didn't succeed.

Meanwhile, locals found the body floating in a drain and informed the police.

"The boy's leg was popping out of the sack. A local resident spotted it and alerted the police," the boy's father reportedly said.

Once the body was found, police re-summoned Nanhe. On sustained interrogation, he broke down and accepted the crime.

Nanhe told police he ran into the boy on March 11. He took the victim to an eatery, where he informed him he didn't have money to pay the bill.

He then asked the boy to accompany him to his house and the latter agreed.
