In a surprising development, Kim Jong-Un, North Korea's leader, has ordered the demolition of several structures within his winter residence, Ryokpo Palace.

This was first revealed by an unidentified North Korean analyst known as "Nobody German" on X.

Satellite imagery shared by the analyst showed a barren plot where a mansion with a blue roof once stood.

The primary living quarters and additional buildings were reportedly dismantled between April 21 and April 25 according to news outlet NK Pro.

Speculations rise over potential military use of Palace Grounds
Military expansion

Speculation is mounting that the demolition could signal Kim's intention to expand military activities.

An expert who spoke to NK Pro suggested that the land where the underused palace was located might be repurposed for military use.

This theory aligns with Kim's recent efforts to enhance his nation's military capabilities.

The removal of the extravagant palace could indicate a plan by Kim to delegate more authority to military leaders or consolidate military facilities, report added.

Kim Jong Un's recent military escalation raises tensions
Rising tensions

Kim has recently authorized several weapons tests, including salvo launches of "super-large" multiple rocket launchers and numerous short-range ballistic missile firings.

The state media described these exercises as North Korea's first test of its nuclear weapons management and control system.

This comes amidst escalating tensions between North Korea, South Korea, and the United States.

The leader has identified South Korea as North Korea's "principal enemy" in its constitution and has rejected any attempts at reunification between the two nations.
