Ganga Dussehra 2023: According to the Vedic calendar, the Ganga Dussehra festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Jyestha month. It is being celebrated today i.e. on 30th May. It is believed that by taking a bath in the river Ganga on this day, people get freedom from all sins and get special benefits.

By taking a bath in Mother Ganga on the day of Ganga Dussehra and taking some special measures, a person gets benefits and the problems coming in life go away. But on the day of Ganga Dussehra, a person should especially follow some rules related to Gangajal. Let's know-

Follow these rules related to Gangajal
-It has been told in the scriptures that Ganges water should not be kept at the place of sleep, in the kitchen, or at the place of eating. Also, keeping it in a dark place should be avoided. By doing this, the purity starts to end.

-According to Vastu Shastra, Gangajal should always be kept in a holy place i.e. temple, by doing this the purity of the water is maintained and it does not make the water impure.

-Gangajal should never be touched with dirty hands. By doing this, negative energy expands in the house. That's why to take special care of cleanliness while touching the Ganges.

-One should not touch the water of the Ganga even by mistake during a solar eclipse or lunar eclipse. Apart from this, Ganga water should be used to purify the house after the eclipse.

Ganga Dussehra 2023 date
It has been told in Vedic Panchang that Dashami Tithi of Jyestha Shukla Paksha will start at 11.49 pm on 29th May and it will end on 30th May at 01.07 pm. The day for the Ganga Dussehra festival is decided according to Udaya Tithi, in this case, this festival will be celebrated on Tuesday, 30 May 2023.
