India was highly praised in the PAK Parliament, Pakistan politician Maulana Fazal ur rehman says in Parliament India superpower

India has been highly praised in the Parliament of Pakistan. A big leader of the neighboring country has said that India is close to becoming a superpower and we are just begging. He said, just compare India and us... both countries got independence on the same day, but today they (India) are dreaming of becoming a superpower and we are begging to save ourselves from bankruptcy.

Prominent leader of Pakistan Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has shown the mirror to his country in the Parliament of Pakistan. Fazal ur Rehman said that while India is getting closer to becoming a global superpower, Pakistan is begging the world to save itself from destruction. Rehman also took a dig at the Pakistani Army.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) chief Rehman gave a powerful speech in the National Assembly. He said, we had also objected to the 2018 elections and we have objection to this (February 8 elections) also. If there was rigging in the 2018 elections, why was there no rigging in the present one? Rehman urged the ruling coalition of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) and Pakistan People's Party to allow PTI to form the government if it has the majority in Parliament. He said that let us sit here (on the opposition bench) and if PTI is a big party then give them the government.

What did Fazal ur Rehman say in the House?

During his speech, he expressed similarities with India. He said, just compare India and us… both countries got independence on the same day, but today they (India) are dreaming of becoming a superpower and we are begging to save ourselves from bankruptcy. He said that decisions are taken by someone else but politicians are held responsible for the problems.

Rehman also lamented the failure to implement the recommendations of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII), stressing the importance of maintaining Islamic principles. Maulana Fazal ur Rehman said that we got the country in the name of Islam, but today we have become a secular state. Not a single recommendation of CII has been implemented since 1973. How can we be an Islamic country? The CCI is a constitutional body set up to help in the Islamization of laws. He also said that Pakistan is begging from the International Monetary Fund to avoid bankruptcy.

Maulana Fazal ur Rehman's party JUI-F was a staunch rival of PTI and had taken steps to remove Imran Khan. After his fall, JUI-F became part of the coalition government. However, after the elections, he broke ties with PML-N and PPP. He alleged that the elections were rigged to keep his party out of power.
