MS Dhoni will not go to West Indies, no longer first-choice wicket-keeper

Ever since India’s exit form ICC World Cup, there have been many speculations and opinions over the future of former captain MS Dhoni. There have been reports that Dhoni has not been included in the squad which will tour West Indies. As per report, Dhoni has made himself unavailable for the tour of West Indies. India will be playing three T20s and three ODIs against West Indies.

On which Officials said:

“MS will not go to the West Indies. Going forward, he will not travel with the team within India or overseas as the first-choice wicket-keeper. Rishabh Pant will take over and there will be a grooming window for him until he settles down”

“For all you know, he could be part of the 15 but not part of the 11. This team needs a guiding hand on multiple fronts and wishing MS away is clearly unhealthy,” the source further added”.

Dhoni is expected to play a crucial role even if he’s not in the playing XI or from the sidelines. Dhoni made his India debut in an ODI match against Bangladesh in Chittagong in December 2004 and went onto establish an unrivaled legacy.
