Wrestler Babita Phogat resigns from Haryana police; may contest in Haryana polls on BJP ticket
New Delhi: Ace wrestler Babita Phogat’s resignation from her post in Haryana Police has been accepted by the state police. She resigned from the service on 13th August this year.
After she resigned from her post as a police inspector.
Speculations are rife that Babita Phogat will be contesting on a BJP ticket in the upcoming Haryana polls. She is expected to stand from either the Barda or the Charkhi Dadri seat.
Babita Phogat and her father Mahavir Phogat had joined the BJP on August 12. They joined the party in the presence of Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Earlier, Babita Phogat came out in support of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar after he courted controversy with his remarks on Kashmiri girls.
The wrestler had backed him saying there was “nothing offensive” in what he said.
