Delhi anti-Hindu riots case: Tahir Hussain seeks parole

New Delhi: Tahir Hussain, the main accused in the Delhi riots and former councilor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has sought parole. Tahir Hussain has sought custodial parole on medical grounds to get treatment in a private hospital. Please tell that Tahir Hussain is also accused of many other riots including the Delhi riots.

Tahir Hussain is also accused of providing financial help during the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi in the month of February in the year 2020. He was also charged with money laundering. This attack on Hindus took place in Delhi when people were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). 

On Tahir Hussain's appeal, Karkardooma Court's Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Raut on Saturday asked the jail administration to submit his medical report. The next hearing on the matter will be held on January 11. Tahir Hussain was produced before the court along with Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam, other accused in the riots cases. Umar Khalid had filed a petition regarding the provision of an electric kettle and study materials in the jail. On this, the court has directed the jail administration to take its decision on Khalid's demand.

Earlier, on October 14, 2022, another case was heard in another court related to the Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain and 6 people including his brother Shah Alam. All of them were accused of conspiring with the mob to kill and injure Hindus. Ajay Jha was also shot in this. During the hearing of the case, the judge had said that the facts and evidence related to the case show that many people had gathered at the house of the then-AAP councilor Tahir Hussain. Some of these people had weapons. Petrol bombs were also arranged and the material required for this was taken from Tahir Hussain's house. All this was done to attack Hindus. The court further said, all the members of the mob were assembled there and all of them were involved in targeting the Hindus.
