1       Arvalem Caves, Goa

These caves located 9kms south of Bicholim Town.They are now a rather recent discovery and are said to be a hide out for Pandavas during their exile. The rock cut caves are monuments of the pre-historic life in Goa, a time of Pandavas and Mahabharata. Popularly known as the Pandava Caves, these caves have derived their name from the five Pandavas of the epic Mahabharata.

 2     Wular Lake, Jammu and Kashmir 

Famed for being one of the world’s largest freshwater lakes, it regularly hosts water sports for tourists and locals. The largest in the Jammu and Kashmir territory, in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent.  The town of Sopur is on the southwest shore of the lake, and an island to the northeast contains 15th-century ruins. The heart-shaped fruit is scooped out from picturesque floating plants that appear to be natural carpet of mosses covering the length and breadths of the lake. Water-chestnuts or water-caltrops being the major produce of the area, covers a significant portion of Wular. The lake is also home to a wide variety of fishes.

 

3       Ram Setu, Tamil Nadu

As per the legends, the bridge was built by Lord Rama with the help of his monkey army. This chain of limestone shoals connects Sri Lanks’s Mannar Island and Dhanushkodi in India. Bridge represents a former land connection between India and Sri Lanka. Multiple theories exist regarding the formation of the bridge. There are only a few historical structures across the globe that link mythological and historical theories together. The Ram Setu bridge is a chain of natural mineral shoals between Pamban Island or Rameswaram Island in Tamil Nadu, India, and Mannar Island in Sri Lanka.

  Majuli, located in upper Assam, is popular for being one of the most diverse wildlife regions in India.  As per the reports, the area of the island has reduced from 483 sq km to 421 sq km, and if some surveys are to go by, Majuli would cease to exist in 15-20 years.The world’s largest river Island, Majuli, is blessed with unparalleled beauty and a rich culture that will surprise you on your first visit.Majuli Island is also a good place for birding.
