Musi River

Charminar

Charminar was built by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shahi in 1591. This monument is an important place for Muslims as it marks the location where four dargahs are located. Its original name was Khairtabad Mosque which means 'beautiful mosque'.

Golconda Fort

Toli Masjid

Toli Masjid is located near Charminar and is one of the oldest mosques in India from the Qutb Shahi period which is also known as Adavi bangash. It is located on the historic Barkatpura street which is known for its delicious cuisine and historical sites.

This university was founded in 1917 and is one of India's prominent institutions of learning. It offers a vast number of degrees in various subjects such as economics, languages, arts, and sciences.

Qutb Shahi Tombs

The tomb complex was built by Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutub Shahi in 1591 to honor his father. It is considered one of the most impressive historical structures and is listed in the UNESCO world heritage site. The Tomb of Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah is among the most beautiful structures and includes four tombs that are surrounded by gardens. 

Bhimeswara Swamy Temple

This temple is situated on the banks of River Musi and was built in the 12th century by King Bhima Deva Raya. The temple has some amazing carvings and sculptures which have been carved from stones. This place also has a statue of Lord Hanuman which is considered to be very sacred among Hindus and attracts a huge number of devotees every year during the Hanuman Jayanti festival.

Hussain Sagar Lake

In 1562, Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah constructed this lake which took around 5 years to complete. It is the largest lake in Hyderabad and is an ideal place to spend some leisure time as it offers various water sports such as rowing, yachting, and boating. Travelers can also enjoy evening walks around the lake as well as various food stalls that will give them a chance to taste popular Hyderabadi cuisine. 

Mecca Masjid

This mosque was built with red sandstone and white marble by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah in the year 1617. It is one of the most popular places in Hyderabad and is especially visited by Muslims in large numbers during Eid festivals.
