King Charles III Bestows New Title On Kate Middleton

New Delhi: King Charles III bestowed his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton with The Royal Companion of The Order of the Companions of Honour. The title was bestowed on her in recognition of the Princess of Wales “taking on more responsibilities”, a report by the Independent said.

The other two people who hold this title are JK Rowling and Sir Elton John.

Kate was given the title as part of a St George’s Day tradition. Her husband, Prince William, was also bestowed with the title earlier. He was honoured with the title Great Master of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath.

This is not Kate Middleton’s first royal title following her marriage to Prince William. She is also known as the Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cambridge, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, Countess of Chester, Countess of Carrick, Baroness of Carrickfergus and Baroness of Renfrew.

Kate, who is three times a duchess, began to use the Duchess of Cornwall title after Queen Elizabeth died in 2022.

Prince William and Princess Kate were known as the “Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge” only for a few hours in between the queen’s death and King Charles passing the title of the Prince of Wales to his son.

Kate Middleton has several military titles as well, like, the Colonel of the Irish Guards, Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm, Colonel-in-Chief of the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards, Royal Honorary Air Commodore of the R.A.F. Coningsby and Royal Honorary Air Commodore of the Air Cadets.
