Johnny Depp returns as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 concept poster fans love

Over seven years have passed since Johnny Depp last played Captain Jack Sparrow on the big screen.

The 60-year-old star was set to return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 as a fond farewell to his much-loved swashbuckler.

However, the Oscar-nominee was dropped from the franchise by Disney following domestic abuse allegations by his ex-wife Amber Heard, which he strongly denies.

Nevertheless, having won his US libel case against her, fans are hopeful he will bury the hatchet with the studio who reportedly want him back in a supporting role in Pirates 6.

A respected source tells Express.co.uk that the actor will be considering a return to the franchise and, in the meantime, fans are going wild for Pirates 6 concept posters and trailers.

The latest by artist Gaby Garza is a fan concept poster for Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
