Next James Bond odds suspended: Bookies' favourite 'set to replace Daniel Craig this week'

It's been a long time coming, but the next is reportedly chosen.

For months, has been the bookies' favourite, and now betting has been suspended following a new report that he's been formally offered the role.

Coral's John Hill said this morning: "We have pulled the plug on our next James Bond betting to let the dust settle.

"If reports are to be believed, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who has been our favourite for the last 12 months, could be set to replace ."

According to The Sun's exclusive which is being taken very seriously by other major outlets, the 33-year-old will be the next James Bond if he accepts the offer from EON Productions.

Their source said: "Bond is Aaron's job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.

"As far as EON is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement."

The insider claimed the Bond 26 script is now in the works for production set to take place at Pinewood Studios.

Asked last week about taking on 007, Taylor-Johnson said: "I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment."

Here's hoping an official announcement is just around the corner in what will be the first new Bond reveal in almost 20 years.
