Chaitra Navratri 5th Day: Worshiping Maa Skandamata

Maa Skandamata, the fifth manifestation of Goddess Durga, is depicted with four arms, carrying her son Kartikeya on her right upper arm. She holds a lotus in her lower left hand. Her upper left hand is in Abhaya Mudra, while her lower left-hand holds a white lotus. She rides a lion and sits in a lotus position due to her association with the lotus.

On the fifth day of Navratri, after morning ablutions, wear yellow attire and commence the puja. Offer red flowers while remembering the goddess. Present her with sandalwood paste, rice grains (Akshat), incense, flowers, fruits, sweets, paan, cloves, and cardamom. Light incense and lamps. Offer bananas, her favorite, as Bhog. Perform the aarti and blow the conch. Offer Maa Skandamata a red-colored scarf and marital items. It holds special significance to offer a bow and arrow during her puja.
