Dinesh Karthik Recalls His Bad Memory With Sachin Tendulkar When He Denied Legend A Century
The legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 51st birthday today and social media is flooded with birthday wishes for the Bharat Ratna awardee.
Sachin Tendulkar is considered as the God of cricket by many of his fans and he has numerous records in his name, some of which are almost impossible to be broken.
Today the official X handle of the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore uploaded a video in which their cricketers wished Little Master and also revealed their memory that they have with the legend. While many shared only good memories with Sachin Tendulkar, the senior Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik has both a good and a bad memory.
Dinesh Karthik stated that for the first time when he met Sachin Tendulkar, he (DK) was on a flyover as the bus was going to the airport and Sachin Tendulkar came in his car and joined them in the bus midway.
Talking about the bad memory, Dinesh Karthik stated that it was Sachin Tendulkar stranded on 97 not out. He added that the team needed to win four runs to win the match and he ended the match by smashing a six because of which Little Master was not able to complete his century and he (DK) feels bad about it even today.
DK was referring to the third ODI which India played against Sri Lanka at Cuttack in the year 2009. In that match, India needed 240 runs to win, Sachin and Dinesh produced a partnership of 74 runs for the fourth wicket and took India home as winners with seven wickets in hand and 45 balls remaining in India’s innings.
However, DK made a little mistake as Sachin Tendulkar was stranded on 96 runs and not 97, DK remained not out at the score of 32 runs and Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged as the Player of the Match as he took 4 wickets in his 10 overs and gave only 32 runs.
