SS Rajamouli's Son Karthikeya Breaks Silence Of Team RRR Buying Tickets For Oscars 2023

SS Rajamouli directed movie “RRR” has scripted history by winning not just the hearts but also many international awards including the Oscars for the song “Naatu Naatu”. The song was composed by MM Keeravani and it won the Oscars in the best original song category. While the “RRR” team made the country proud, there were some who claimed that the team has spent a huge amount of around Rs.

80 crore on their Oscar campaign and they have not won it but instead, they have bought it. If this is not enough, then there are few who feel that MM Keeravani has given far better compositions than “Naatu Naatu” and it didn’t deserve the Oscars.

RRR’s Oscar campaign was headed by Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya and in a recent interview, he responded on the allegations. As per him, if someone says that the Oscars can be bought, then it is no less than a big joke. Karthikeya further talks about the Oscars as he says that it is an institution which has a history of 95 years and everything is done as per the process. Karthikeya questions the haters whether the love of fans can be bought or whatever words of praise have been said by Steven Spielberg and James Cameron about “RRR” can be bought.

In regard to the amount spent on buying the tickets for the big event, Karthikeya stated that there is no truth in the rumours that they spent a lot of money for buying the seats, though he accepted that they spent some money for buying few tickets. Karthikeya revealed that other than the nominees and the people invited by the committee, everyone else had to buy the tickets but for that, nominees had to send an email to the committee and tickets are available for different types of classes.

Karthikeya further added that MM Keeravani sent an email to the committee for his family (SS Rajamouli’s family) and after verifying everything by the committee, a link was sent to them. He said that they bought tickets (lower level) for $1500 each and four tickets (top) were bought for $750 each.

Karthikeya also stated that they started the Oscars campaign for “RRR” only after seeing the love that the movie got from the global audiences.

“RRR” has certainly given a new identity to the Indian cinema on a global stage, agree?
