Yuzvendra Chahal Creates Record, Becomes The First Ever Bowler To Take 200 Wickets In IPL
Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian spinner is performing pretty well in the IPL 2024 and he is once again making a strong case for himself considering the fact that selection of the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup will take place soon.
Yuzi, as his fans love to call him, is certainly one of the best spinners that India has in the present times and yesterday in the match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians which was played at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, Jaipur, Chahal achieved the feat of becoming the first bowler to take 200 wickets in the history of the IPL.

What makes it more interesting is the fact that Yuzvendra Chahal started his IPL career in the Mumbai Indians jersey and now he has achieved this big feat against the same franchise.
For the majority of his IPL career, Yuzvendra Chahal played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and in the history of the Bengaluru franchise, he is the highest wicket-taker with 139 wickets in 113 matches and he is the only bowler in the history of the tournament who has taken 100 or more than 100 wickets for one franchise.
RCB released him ahead of the IPL 2022 auctions and didn’t bid for him despite the fact that he was an integral part of RCB for a long time and RR didn’t miss the opportunity of buying the prolific spinner. Yuzi was the Purple cap winner in the IPL 2022 and this year, he is the leading wicket-taker of RR with 13 wickets and he is certainly in the race of Purple cap.
As far as the match is concerned, RR won the match by 9 wickets as they successfully chased the target of 180 in 18.4 overs with the help of the century knock of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sandeep Sharma was adjudged as the Player of the Match as he took 5 wickets and gave only 18 runs in his 4 overs.
