Hyderabad: Husband harasses wife, gets two years imprisonment

Hyderabad: A court at Malkajgiri sentenced a man two year rigorous imprisonment for his atrocities meted out to his wife.

According to the details furnished by Kushaiguda Police, Vijaya Bhanu (28), wife of G. Narsaiah (30), resident of Krishna Nagar SBH Colony, Kushaiguda had lodged a complaint against her husband.

In her petition, the woman mentioned that she entered into wedlock two years back as a result of love marriage. She has two sons. She alleged that her husband had taken to drinking and was harassing her continuously. He also suspected her character.

On 18th August, he made an attempt to kill her after which she was successful in getting out of his clutches. The next day, she filed a complaint with the police. Police had arrested him and after filing the charge sheet, the magistrate sentenced him for two year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 4000.
