Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday launched 14400, a citizen helpline number meant to enable people to complain about corruption in government departments.
Citizens can register complaints regarding corruption through the helpline and the government has assured that investigations will be completed within 15-30 days…
After the launch, the Chief Minister called the helpline and inquired about its functioning.
He directed the officials to complete the investigation into the complaints within the stipulated period without fail.
However, this sort of initiatives are expected not only creates fear among officials but also eradicate corruption system gradually if it is implied in 100 % transparent manner. It has to be seen in the future as to how this is become effective.
