Almond Til Chikki

When festivals arrive, we crave for sweets and desserts! How about the idea of making healthy sweet snacks that will also give you a little satisfaction of sweetness. Try this Almond Til Chikki loaded with nutritional properties that can be prepared on festivals like Makarsakranti and Lohri.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup black sesame seeds

1/2 cup almonds

1/4 cup powdered jaggery

2 teaspoon ghee

How to make Almond Til Chikki

Step 1

Lightly roast the black sesame seeds over medium flame for a few minutes or until the light brown in colour.

Step 2

Once done, keep the seeds aside to cool and then repeat the process with the almonds.

Step 3

Grease the back of a flat plate with a little ghee and keep it aside.

Step 4

Next, in a pan, heat the ghee and then add the jaggery powder.

Step 5

Simmer under low flame until the entire jaggery melts and caramelizes such that it forms a hard ball when you place a drop in cold water.

Step 6

Once the jaggery powder is melted, mix it thoroughly with the roasted black sesame seeds and almonds.

Step 7

Now, pour the entire mixture over the greased plate and roll it into thin sheets with the help of a greased rolling pin.

Step 8

Allow it to cool for some time and then cut it into square pieces.
