INGREDIENTS
10 bread slices
500 ml condensed milk
250 gm khoya
100 gm cherry
100 gm pistachios
500 gm sugar
10 green cardamom
0 water as required
1 cup refined oil
How to make Double Ka Meetha
Step 1
To prepare this easy recipe, take white bread pieces and cut their edges (all 4 sides) with a sharp knife. Next, semi grind the cardamom seeds in a jar and keep aside until required.
Step 2
Next, heat refined oil in pan or a kadhai and when the oil is hot enough, add the bread pieces in it and deep fry them until they turn golden brown in colour.
Step 3
Meanwhile, prepare the sugar syrup or chasni for soaking these deep fried bread pieces. For the same, put a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame and add water in it along with sugar. Stir to mix the sugar and then let it boil. Once it starts boiling, let it simmer on low flame until the sugar is dissolved completely and the syrup starts becoming slightly sticky. Add some ground cardamom powder for better taste (step 1). Stir well and keep aside the sugar syrup.
Step 4
Once all the bread pieces are fried, add them in the sugar syrup and allow them to rest for half an hour. This process will make the fried bread pieces soft.
Step 5
When bread pieces turn soft and a little juicy, keep them in a flat tray or plate and pour condensed milk on each pieces to make the topping. Then grate the khoya (just like we grate cheese on pizza base) to make the topping more thick.
Step 6
Finally, add or sprinkle some dried small cherry pieces and pistachio (pista) on each piece for garnishing and added taste. Double Ka Meetha is ready to serve. Relish & enjoy.
