INGREDIENTS

800 gm amla

150 gm palm jaggery

150 gm caster sugar

300 ml water

How to make Gooseberry Granita

Step 1

To prepare this delicious recipe, take a medium sauce pan over medium flame and put sugar, jaggery and water in it. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 2

Then, add gooseberries (amla) and bring the mixture to a boil. Turn down the flame and let it simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Now, turn off the flame and let it cool down for a while. Pour the mixture into a blender and make a puree. Then, using a sieve, squeeze out as much juice as possible into a bowl.

Step 4

Next, let the puree to cool down completely, then, pour into a freezer safe container and place it in a freezer. When the mixture starts to freeze around the edges, take it out of the freezer and stir with a fork to break up any frozen sections.

Step 5

Place it back in the freezer and repeat the process until the granita is completely frozen. Scoop out small balls and transfer them to a dessert bowl or glass. Enjoy the delicious dessert!
