Horchata Pops
Who would say no to a cool, fruity ice popsicle? Horchata Pops is an easy popsicle recipe using which you can make ice cream anytime you like that too at the comfort of your home. These fruity pops are made with rice, evaporated milk, almond milk, cinnamon, almonds and vanilla extract. The dish gets its name from Horchata which is a traditional Mexican drink made from rice, almonds and other everyday ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
2 cup rice
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup condensed milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup flaked almonds
2 1/2 cup almond milk
1 litre water
How to make Horchata Pops
Step 1
To start with, take a bowl and add rice, almonds and cinnamon. Now, mix the ingredients and add the contents in a blender. Grind to obtain a fine powder. Now, soak the obtained powder in water for 3 hours to overnight.
Step 2
Now, strain the mixture to separate the water from the rice mix. Reserve the liquid. Now, add the drained rice mixture with evaporated milk. Transfer the mixture in a grinder and blend until smooth. Strain the obtained paste and keep the remains, discarding the liquid.
Step 3
Now, to this obtained paste add in condensed milk with vanilla extract. Mix well and add almond milk with the reserve water from the rice mixture.
Step 4
Pour the prepared mixture in popsicle moulds and freeze for at least 6-8 hours. Remove and serve chilled.
