Som Tam
An authentic Thai salad, Som Tam is a flavourful dish which is an absolute delight to the taste buds. Also known as green papaya salad, the ingredients of this traditional Thai salad are first crushed in a pestle and mortar to be added in the dish. This is an easy-to-make salad recipe will refresh you and will certainly please your taste buds.
INGREDIENTS
1 medium green papaya
5 cloves garlic
2 tomato
1/2 cup green beans
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 cup lime juice
3 tablespoon palm sugar
2 tablespoon crushed peanuts
7 birds eye chillies
How to make Som Tam
Step 1
To prepare this easy salad, wash the papaya and peel it. Then, shred it and set aside.
Step 2
Add the garlic cloves and green chillies to a pestle and mortar and roughly pound them.
Step 3
Then, add the chopped beans and pound till they are completely crushed. Add the tomatoes and pound them as well.
Step 4
To prepare the dressing, take a bowl to combine the dark soya sauce, lime juice and sugar.
Step 5
Transfer the diced papaya into a salad bowl and add the crushed ingredients to it along with the peanuts.
Step 6
Now, pour the dressing over the salad and toss well. Serve chilled.
